FULLY ALIVE

FULLY ALIVEA Journey that Will Change Your Life by Ken Davis … Ken Davis takes you through many experiences that happened to him and tell stories from other people that he knows. These experiences are to help the reader to live a full life and be alive in what we do. A quote he makes is “Some people die at 25 but are not buried until they are 75”, this should get you to thinking about how you are living your life, to the fullest or just going through the motions of living. The main thing we need in our lives is Christ and to follow His teachings from God’s word. Ken devotes many chapters to this and how God will help us live a fuller life. He also devotes chapters to his struggle with his weight; he tells how he overcame that problem. In all it is a very interesting book, written with many humorist stories and offers many things that can help us to live a fuller life. Remember what we need is Jesus Christ in our life to make the biggest different.

NEIGHBORS AND WISE MEN

NEIGHBORS AND WISE MENSacred encounters in a Portland Pub and Other Unexpected Places by Tony Kriz ……. This is a book about how we can learn from others, neighbors, people from other countries, religions and just anyone we happen to meet in our daily life. Tony Kriz tells of encounters that he had in his years of being a missionary in Albania. When he first went there he had to deal with their culture. He also had a problem of disbelief in his life. We all can relate to his stories and his struggles, we all have been up against many of the same things. He shows that we may thing we are going to be the teacher, but that sometimes we are the one being taught. The book is 24 chapters, each chapter has about 9 – 12 pages, this makes this book very easy to read.

William Paul Young (The author of The Shack) writes in his forward:

Every human being is a story. This book is simple, because it is story. This book is profound and challenging, because it is story.”

I found Tony’s stories interesting and well written. I also found that I can learn from those I come in contact with.
